Time and time again your Reflections suggest you are most engaged when projects provide the creativity and latitude to follow your interests. Furthermore, since you are a social generation you also like working with partners. Well, here's another one for you....
From your one-class introduction to Radio Frequency concepts supporting the nRF24L01's contribution to the RSGC ACES' Day Counter, you are asked to work with a partner to develop your own RF system over a short period of time (less than one week). You will present/demonstrate your device to the class on Monday April 28th.
Task
- After a successful installation of the RF24 library, you are to use your nRF24L01 devices together with any input device (button, joystick, potentiometer, keypad, rotary encoder, etc.) and output device (bargraph, matrix, single 7-segment displays, 4-digit display, motor, etc.) to create a compelling system outcome. Note: LCD and OLED screens are really too small to be visible across the DES.
- There's not enough time to go to China for a custom PCB but you are welcome to request an ACES Perma-Proto to mount your creation more permanently, as I did with the ACES DES Day Counter Transmitter/Receiver pair.
- You've got to work quickly. Email me by Wednesday Aprill 23 if you think I've got a part you need for your hack as I may have it at home and Thursday is the only other day we'll be together before your presentation.
- Prizes will be awarded to the best in show. Emphasis: Creativity and Functionality
