Definitions of some Properties of a Circle
- An arc of a circle is a connected section of the circumference
of a circle.
There's both a minor (shorter) and major (larger) arc. We'll let s stand
for
the
length
of
the
arc.
- A sector of a circle is the part of the interior of a circle
bounded by two radii and an arc. There's both a minor (shorter) and
major (larger) sector. We'll let a stand for the area of
the sector.
- The central or sector angle of a circle is the angle formed
by two radii. There's both a minor (shorter) and major (larger) sector
angle.
We'll let theta stand for the sector angle.
